Taluk / tehsil office

For a revenue office where farmers come from villages for a land record, students need an income certificate by Friday, and everyone waits outside one door. An example of how such an office could call people to its counters; the certificates and records are still the office's to issue.

Visits with several steps

  • Mutation, then a survey if needed

The land records clerk takes the mutation application and decides whether a survey request is needed; if it is, the applicant gets a new token for it without joining the line again themselves.

    For Mutation application

    1. The service itself
    2. Choose one — the desk that finishes the step before chooses

      No survey needed (default)

      Done

      Survey request

      1. Go to Survey or boundary request on Land records

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5:30 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm; Sunday closed.

Add public holidays and the second Saturday as closed days. Hearings booked on them are listed so you can cancel or keep each one.

  • TV display

The token being called and the counter to go to.

On the verandah wall, where people wait outside the hall.

  • QR poster

At the gate, at the help desk, and on the notice board next to the list of papers to bring.

Tips

  • A help desk for people without a phone.

Give the help desk clerk the Front desk ability. They add a visit in a few taps, hand over a slip with a QR code, and can mark an elderly farmer as priority while adding them.

    How it works →
  • Let the page speak the person's language.

The customer app can be read in eight languages, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam among them. The names you give your lines and services stay as you typed them, so name them in the words people use.

    How it works →
  • Book hearings, not certificates.

The Revenue officer line is bookings only, so it takes no walk-ins and the officer knows who is coming. Certificates stay walk-in.

    How it works →
  • Let a certificates counter answer questions when it is quiet.

Certificates counter 2 calls from two lines, so status questions do not wait for one help desk when certificates are slow.

    How it works →
  • A position is true; a time is a guide.

A person sees how many are ahead of them and an estimated wait as a range. Tell people who have travelled far to trust the place in the line.
