For customers

You are in the queue. You do not have to stand in it.

A business you are visiting uses LineUp to run its queue. You take your place from your phone, see roughly how long the wait is, and then you can sit down, step outside, or go and get a coffee.

How it works

  1. 1

    You take a place

Scan the poster or open the link you were sent. You give a phone number so we know the place is yours.

  2. 2

    You watch your place

The page shows how many people are ahead of you and roughly how long that is, and it updates on its own as the queue moves. Keep it open, or come back to it whenever you like.

  3. 3

    You are called

Your page tells you when it is your turn. Be nearby when you get close — nobody is going to phone you.

The time is an estimate, not a promise. It is worked out from how many people are ahead of you and how long that business usually takes. When nobody is serving the queue yet you will see your place and no time, which is the honest answer rather than a guess.

There is no app. It is a web page. Nothing to download, nothing to sign up for beyond a phone number, and it works on any phone with a browser.

What it costs

A small fee, and it is ours, not the business's.

LineUp charges you for holding your place. The business you are visiting charges you for whatever it charges you for — that is between you and them, and it has nothing to do with this.

Holding a place in a queue ₹10
One fee per business per day — not per visit. Cancel and rejoin the same queue and you are not charged twice.
Booking a time slot ahead ₹50
Where a business offers appointments rather than a walk-in queue.

When fees do start, they are paid from a credit balance you top up in advance rather than a card charged each time. Credits buy one thing — places in queues. They are not money, they cannot be passed to anyone else, and they cannot be taken back out as cash. The customer terms say the same at greater length.

Your first visit to a business is free. Some businesses choose to cover the fee for their customers entirely — if yours does, you will not be asked for anything.

A day at Riverside Clinic

  • 09:12 Joined the queue GEN-20260901-011 ₹10
  • 11:40 Cancelled, then rejoined GEN-20260901-034 ₹0
  • 16:05 Joined a second queue XR-20260901-007 ₹0
Total for the day ₹10
Tomorrow is a new day, and so is a different business.

Your data

The plain version.

The full detail is in the privacy policy. This is the same thing in four sentences.

What you give us
Your phone number, so we can prove it is you and so the business can reach you if something changes. A name, if you want to give one — it is optional, and a queue works perfectly well calling a token number instead.
What the business sees
Your name if you gave one, your phone number, and your place in their queue. Nothing about anywhere else you have been.
What other customers see
Nothing. Not your name, not your number, not that you are there. You see a position — “3rd in line” — and that is a count, never a list of people.
If you delete your account
Your account and your details go. The record that a business served somebody on a given day stays, with your account no longer attached to it — a business has to be able to account for its own day, and that record is theirs as much as yours.

Leaving

How to get out of a queue.

Leave the queue

Open your ticket and choose to cancel. Your place is given up immediately and everyone behind you moves up.

Let someone go ahead

If you are not ready, you can move yourself back rather than losing your place altogether.

Stop using LineUp

You can delete your account and your details at any time. See the customer terms for what that does and does not remove.

Looking for a business?

Businesses using LineUp that have chosen to be listed are searchable. Most are not listed — if you were given a poster or a link, use that instead.
