Customer terms

Last updated 25 August 2026

These apply to you if you hold a place in a queue using LineUp. They are not the terms of the business you are visiting — those are theirs, and separate.

What LineUp does for you

LineUp holds your place in a queue run by a business, and shows you where you are in it. That is the whole service.

LineUp does not provide the thing you are queueing for. The consultation, the haircut, the wash, the appointment — all of that is between you and the business. We are not responsible for it, we do not supervise it, and we have no say in how they run it.

What you are paying for

When you pay a fee, you are buying a service from LineUp. You are not paying the business, and LineUp is not collecting money on the business's behalf. Whatever the business charges you for its own service is a separate transaction that we are not part of.

WhatFee
Holding a place in a walk-in queue₹10
Booking a time slot ahead₹50

One fee per business per day, not per visit. One payment covers everything you do at that business that day — a second queue, cancelling and rejoining, a booking and a walk-in. The day is the business's own day, in the business's timezone.

Your first visit to a business is free. Some businesses cover the fee for their customers.

What a place in a queue is not

  • It is not a guarantee that you will be served. A business can close, run out of time, or decide it cannot see you. It is their queue.
  • It is not priority, and paying more does not buy priority. Order of service is the business's decision. Staff may see someone before you for reasons of their own — in a clinic, that is a good thing.
  • It is not a medical appointment, a booking contract, or a promise about waiting time. Any time estimate you see is an estimate.

Credits

Fees are paid from a credit balance you top up in advance. Credits buy one thing — queue places on LineUp. They are not money, they cannot be transferred to anyone else, and they cannot be withdrawn as cash.

Refunds

If we take a fee and then fail to hold your place — the queue was cancelled by the business, or something on our side went wrong — the fee is returned to your credit balance.

If you take a place and then do not turn up, the fee is not refunded. You had the place; nobody else could.

If you think a fee was wrong, tell us. We would rather refund an argument than win it.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep your phone secure — anyone who can read your messages can take your place in a queue.

The link to your ticket contains a secret, so anyone you forward it to can see that place. That is deliberate, so you can send it to whoever is coming with you.

You can delete your account at any time. What that removes and what it leaves is set out in the privacy policy.

Behaviour

Do not take places you do not intend to use, do not take places on behalf of people who are not coming, and do not automate joining. We may suspend an account doing any of these, and we will say why.

If we get it wrong

If LineUp fails and you lose a place because of it, our responsibility is limited to the fees you paid us for that visit. We are not responsible for what the business does, for what you missed, or for anything that follows from it.

Changes

If we change these terms we will date this page. Fees you have already paid are governed by the terms in force when you paid them.

Questions about this document? Ask before you agree to it — we would rather answer than have you guess.
