Token queue for service centres

Every counter calls from the same line

Banks, government and municipal offices, telecom and utility centres, repair counters, document counters. The help desk gives each person a token they follow on their own phone. Their page shows how many are ahead and an estimated wait, and tells them when it is their turn.

A hall full of people, and nobody knows who is next

  • Which counter do I go to?
  • How long will it be?
  • Was I before her?
  • I paid the fee. Where now?

So the hall fills, and every counter is asked who is next.

Today's list

  1. Ramesh
  2. Shabna
  3. Jose
  4. Indu
  5. Faisal
  6. Leela
The queue today: a list only the desk can see.

One button moves the whole room.

  1. Waiting. ML 014 is next in Main line. Suresh's phone shows nobody ahead.
  2. Call Next. The board turns amber, the TV calls ML 014 to Counter 1, and Suresh's phone says it is their turn.
  3. They're here. Serving: green on the board, and the phone says they are being seen.
  4. Complete. Done. ML 015 moves to the top, and every phone behind it counts one fewer.

This is the desk's button. Press it, or keep scrolling.

Pre-filled for service centres.

A crowd at the counter tells nobody how long, and a paper token roll tells nobody when. Start with one line that every counter calls from, then add a line for each kind of work when you need it. More lines and desks are included from Basic up.

What setup fills in for “Something else”

  • Main line walk-in 15 min

Sign up from this page and setup opens with “Something else” already picked, so this appears — you can still pick another. Rename, re-time or delete it. Free includes three lines and walk-ins. Basic (₹999 a month billed yearly, ex-GST) includes ten lines and booked times. Compare plans →

Why service centres use a token queue

  • Whoever is free calls next.

Every counter on a line calls from the same list, in order, so nobody is skipped and nobody picks their case. Calling next is one tap, and a wrong tap has Undo.

  • A TV that calls the token and the counter.

The hall screen shows the token and where to go, with a chime and the token read aloud. It never shows a name. Any TV or stick with a modern browser.

  • One counter, two kinds of work.

A counter can call from two lines in the proportions you set, so the counter that handles applications can take a share of the enquiries too (included from Basic up).

  • The help desk sends them on.

Whoever finishes at the help desk sends the person on to the right counter, as one visit they can follow step by step on their phone (Included from Standard up).

Their place, on their phone.

  • Their page shows their token, how many are ahead and roughly how long. It updates by itself, and tells them when it is their turn.
  • Running late? They tap 5, 10 or 15 minutes and keep their place.
  • Their page is available in eight languages, including हिन्दी, മലയാളം and தமிழ்.
