Post office

For a small post office with three counters, where someone posting a registered letter waits behind a savings deposit and the whole room is standing.

3 lines · 3 desks · Something else picked in setup

    Ticked: Front desk

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm; Sunday closed.

Add public holidays as closed days. A closed day shows on the customer's page, so nobody scans the poster and walks over for nothing.

  • TV display

The token being called and the counter to go to.

On the wall above the counters, where people on the bench can see it.

  • QR poster

On the front door and next to the stamp counter.

Tips

  • Share the third counter.

Counter 3 calls from the Stamps and enquiries line and from Parcels and speed post, so a short stamp line never leaves a clerk idle while parcels wait.

    How it works →
  • Everyone at a counter can add a walk-in.

All three clerks have the Front desk ability, so whoever sees a person without a phone adds them at the desk and gives them a slip with a QR code.

    How it works →
  • Say when the counter is on a break.

Pause a counter with a reason such as "Meal" and a return time. The board reads "On a meal break · back ~2:00 pm", and customers waiting on that line see the delay in their estimate instead of a counter that has silently stopped.

    How it works →
  • Set Saturday as a short day.

The product keeps one span of hours per day, so give Saturday its own shorter hours and phones cannot join after one.
