Sub-registrar office

For a registration office where a buyer, a seller and two witnesses stand in the corridor for hours, and nobody knows whether the deed ahead of them is nearly done. An example of how such an office could call people to its counters; the office still checks, charges and registers as it always has.

Tips

  • Book the deeds, so the parties come at a time.

Document scrutiny takes bookings for today and the next six days as well as walk-ins. A booked time holds one person for each desk that calls from the line, so two scrutiny counters take two parties a slot. A booked party presses I am here on their phone when they arrive; Call Next passes over a booking nobody has checked in.

    How it works →
  • Keep marriages to bookings only.

Marriage registration is a bookings-only line, so it takes no walk-ins and the sub-registrar knows who is coming. The couple books in one person's name and presses I am here on arrival. The sub-registrar's desk calls from it as well as from its own line.

    How it works →
  • Run a registration as one visit.

The process sends the party from scrutiny to fees to photo to the sub-registrar. Each step gives them its own token and the next desk sees them as soon as the last one completes, so nobody joins a line again themselves.

    How it works →
  • Line Me Up calls people; the office does the rest.

The fee counter's token tells a party when to go to the window. The fee itself, the scrutiny and the registration are the office's own work, done as before.

    How it works →
  • Give the second scrutiny counter a share of the copies.

Scrutiny counter 2 calls from two lines. Use Calls from on the Live Board to give copies a bigger share in the afternoon, when the booked deeds are done.
