Employment exchange

For an employment exchange where graduates line up at the start of the month to register or renew, and a person who only needs a renewal waits behind a full registration. An example of how such an office could call people to its counters; registration and guidance are still the office's own work.

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm; Saturday and Sunday closed.

Add public holidays as closed days. Guidance sessions booked on them are listed so you can cancel or keep each one.

  • TV display

The token being called and the counter to go to.

In the hall, above the registration counters.

  • QR poster

At the entrance and at the check counter, next to the office's list of certificates to bring.

Tips

  • Keep renewals off the registration line.

A renewal takes a few minutes. Give it its own line and counter so it does not wait behind full registrations; Registration counter 2 calls from both when renewals pile up.

    How it works →
  • Check papers before the registration counter.

New candidates join the Document check line. The process runs when the check completes and gives them their registration token, so a registration clerk sees them only after their certificates are looked at.

    How it works →
  • Book guidance, keep it bookings only.

Career guidance takes no walk-ins. A candidate chooses a time for today or the next six days, and the guidance officer sees them on the same board.

    How it works →
  • See the start-of-month rush in numbers.

Insights' Waits page shows the average wait by the hour people joined over the last 30 days, so you can decide when the second registration counter should open.
