Everything in the box

Everything Line Me Up does today, for your desk and your customers.

Your desk calls the next person with one tap, and your customers wait wherever they like. Below is everything around that. Each card is something Line Me Up does today, and wait times are estimates, never promises.

For your business

One button runs the floor.

The desk is built around one loop: Call Next, Serve, Complete. Everything else sets it up or reports on it.

Guided setup

Four setup steps, each pre-filled for your kind of place. Stop halfway and come back.

  • Guided setup by kind of place

Clinic, salon, car care, café or other each start with typical lines and people. Change anything.

  • Team logins created for you

Give someone an email and they get a login with a temporary password, shown once, with a reminder to change it until they do.

  • Open from day one

The usual hours for your kind of place apply at once; change them any time.

  • Survives a refresh

Setup resumes at the right step with everything saved.

See what setup fills in for: Clinics · Salons · Car care · Service centres · Restaurants

The desk loop

Made for a phone or a counter tablet. Nothing pops up to stop someone mid-service.

  • One-button Call Next

One press calls the right next person: urgent first, bookings inside their window, a desk's lines shared in the proportions you set.

  • Three taps per visit

Call Next, They're here, Complete. No scrolling on a phone.

  • Undo instead of “Are you sure?”

They're here, Complete and No-show each have an Undo. Nothing at the desk asks “Are you sure?”.

Show 5 more
  • No-show with a countdown

“No-show in 4 min unless they arrive”, marked automatically when your grace time runs out.

  • Call again, Running behind

Call again with a chime on the TV, once per 30 seconds, without moving anyone. Tap Running behind and every waiting visit on that desk's lines sees the extra time.

  • Breaks with a reason

“In theatre · back ~12:30”, visible to the whole team. A person already called is never stranded: they return near the front.

  • Rides out short Wi-Fi drops

They're here, Complete and No-show wait on the device and send when the connection returns, as long as nobody reloads the page. Call Next waits for it, so nobody is called twice.

  • Send to next

Whoever finishes ticks the next services and presses one button, with a preview of the path and a note for the next desk.

Live Board

Every queue and every desk on one screen, updating within seconds.

  • Everything at a glance

Waiting, expected wait and who serves each queue; who is at each desk and for how long; today against the same time yesterday.

  • Backing up, nobody serving

A slow or unserved queue stands out without anyone doing the maths.

  • Uncovered-queue alarm with a one-tap fix

People waiting with no desk on shift: a red alert names the queue and offers managers the two best desks. One tap adds it, with Undo. Alarms appear on screen.

Show 2 more
  • Run any desk from one phone

Owners and managers can run any desk they manage from one phone or tablet: start a shift, call, serve, complete, take a break.

  • People versus tickets

“9 waiting”, with “7 people in 4 lines” under it, plus who is held and why.

Waitlist

Find anyone, move anyone, add the person standing at the door.

  • Lanes and search

Each line its own column. Find a person by token, part of a name, last digits of a phone or your own file number.

  • Add a walk-in or a phone booking

One sheet: what they came for, a token now or a time. One Undo takes back everything it made.

  • Call to a specific desk

Managers and owners see the desks that can take the call listed first; others are greyed with the reason. Two desks never call the same person.

Show 3 more
  • Reorder, move, prioritise

To the front, drag, or move to another line, each with an Undo. Priority and Urgent (Emergency in a clinic) for staff given that ability.

  • A person's whole story

What they came for, the desk, a plain-sentence timeline and every step of a multi-department visit.

  • Staff see only what they should

Their own lines, no phone numbers, nobody a colleague has called or served on a shared line.

Processes for multi-step visits

“Pay, then X-ray, then back to the doctor” runs itself. Owners, and managers on their own lines.

Included from Standard up · See the plans

  • Five plain cards

Go to a line, The service itself, At the same time, Choose one, Back to whoever sent them. Up to 15 steps.

  • Ready-made for your kind of business

Pay, test, review and Fracture clinic for a clinic; Colour and finish for a salon; Repair with sign-off for a garage; Verified application for anything else. Yours to change.

  • Billing counter first

The X-ray token is not created until the billing desk completes the visit.

Show 3 more
  • Choices with a default

The sender, the desk before, or a fact such as urgent or age picks the branch.

  • Try it before going live

Walk a person's path through the process and see where they would land.

  • Back to the same doctor

The return is reserved for whoever sent them and called ahead of new arrivals once the result is ready.

Visits and Insights

What happened last month, and what it means.

  • Visits report

Every past visit with who, when, line, desk and how it ended. Filter, search, share the link, open a visit for its full trail.

  • Counts open their visits

Tap a count or a bar and Visits opens filtered to those visits. Insights and Visits agree on the totals.

  • Export to CSV

The visits your filters show, up to 10,000 rows at a time. Opens in Excel or Sheets.

Show 3 more
  • An Overview and five pages

Waits, Busy times, Outcomes, Desks and people, Services, for Today, 7 or 30 days against the period before. Owners and managers only; a manager sees their lines.

  • What it answers

Waits by line and hour, a day-by-hour heat map, how visits ended, no-show rates, who gave up and when, served by desk, and service time against the menu's.

  • Fair numbers

Staff are never ranked by speed, and a service time needs ten timed visits; below that it reads “Too few to say”.

Your customers' details

What you hold about the people who queue, and what you do not.

  • Only what the visit needs

Customers give a phone number; name and email are optional. No address or ID, and nobody asks them to explain why they are visiting.

  • Narrow views for staff

Staff on a read-only view see only their own lines and no phone numbers. Each business is kept separate from every other in the application.

  • Deletion

A customer who deletes their account removes their name and phone; your record of the visit stays, without a name. Exports are in Visits.

TV displays

A waiting-room screen paired like a TV app. No staff password on the TV.

  • Pair with a short code

Open the TV address, scan its QR or type its code on your phone, name it and authorise.

  • Now calling, with a chime

The called token big, with where to go, a two-note chime and the token read aloud in the page's language. Speech depends on the voices installed on the TV.

  • Never shows a name

    Token, room and time only.

Show 2 more
  • Page builder and brand colour

Full screen, Split, Sidebar or Tiles, with Now calling, recent calls, desk tiles, a clock and logo, a ticker and a join QR. A live preview, your accent colour, dark for dim halls. Owners and managers.

  • Change a TV from your desk

Rename or edit its page and it updates within seconds. See which TVs are online.

Lines, services and desks

Model the floor the way it really works.

  • Lines for each service

Walk-in, bookings only or both, each with its own cap. How many lines depends on your plan.

  • A services menu

Durations from 1 to 480 minutes and an optional display price, grouped up to three levels. Durations make estimates fairer.

  • Desks and shared counters

Every counter, chair or room, with what it serves and what is happening now. A shared counter anyone can pick at shift start.

Show 2 more
  • Limit a desk to certain services

A specialist chair is only sent people it can serve, with a warning before a limit leaves a queue uncovered.

  • Switch off or remove safely

Nobody is sent to a closed desk and history stays.

Team and access

Simple on purpose: three roles, three abilities, no permission builder.

  • Three roles, three abilities

Owner, manager and staff, plus Front desk, Urgent (Emergency in a clinic) and Run desks as tick-boxes for chosen staff.

  • Managers see only their lines

Enforced on the server and in live updates.

  • Access changes at once

Switch someone off or narrow their lines and their open screen reconnects with the new limits.

Show 2 more
  • Leave

Record a day or a range. The board says “On leave” and affected bookings are listed to cancel or keep.

  • The last owner stays an owner

The last active owner can't be demoted, switched off or delete their account.

Hours, closures and getting found

Holidays handled in one place, and a poster that survives a rename.

  • Weekly hours, closed days, special hours

A date or a range up to a year, with a note customers read.

  • See affected bookings first

Cancel them (each customer is told in the app, with a way to rebook) or keep them flagged for the desk.

  • QR poster and QR slip

A print-ready A5 poster in your language, and a QR slip for each person added at the desk.

Show 3 more
  • Rename without reprinting

Old addresses keep opening your business and are never reused.

  • Choose whether to be listed

Off by default. A QR poster works either way, and a shared link previews with your name and city.

  • Your own clock and timezone

A 12- or 24-hour clock across staff screens, customer phones and TVs, and a business timezone for hours, resets and reports.

Make it yours

Settings are the owner's. Managers set up the lines, services and desks they run, and a manager over the whole business can close a day.

  • Rules per line

Walk-in, bookings or both; a usual time; a cap on online joins; how early a booking may arrive; no-show grace times.

  • When someone comes back

Call returns before anyone new, or after 1 to 10 new people, with a longest wait you choose. Owner only.

  • Almost your turn

A heads-up in the customer's in-app inbox when 1 to 10 people are ahead, or none. Owner only.

  • How a desk shares its calls

Where to go, the services a desk takes, and how its calls are shared between the lines it serves.

A staff app that gets out of the way

Phone-first, keyboard-friendly, and honest about its connection.

  • Phone layout and dark theme

A bottom bar and a floating Add visit on a phone. Light, dark or same as the device.

  • Search and Ctrl/⌘ K

Jump to any screen, or hand a name or token to the Waitlist.

  • Honest Live indicator

What your customers get

Your customers scan, see the line, and wait anywhere.

Nothing to install, nothing to pay. No calling to ask how long, no sitting in the shop: the line, the wait and the hours are on the page.

  1. Scan the poster with your phone camera, or open the link you were given.
  2. Pick what you came for, if the place asks.
  3. Confirm your phone number with a one-time code.
  4. Wait anywhere. Your page shows how many are ahead and tells you when it is your turn.

Find a place and see the wait first

Look before you leave home. The queue is public, and so are the hours.

  • Scan the poster, see the queue

A QR code opens the business page in the browser. No app to install and no sign-up just to look.

  • See the wait before you go

Each place shows how many are waiting and whether it is open; each line shows an “about N min” estimate when people are waiting.

  • Hours, closed days, directions

“Closed · opens 9:00 am”, a note when the place is closed today, a Directions link and a tap-to-call phone number.

Show 3 more
  • Directory search and filters

Type part of a name, pick a kind of place or a city. Press Back and your search is still there.

  • Near me

Closest places first, with a rough distance. Your position is rounded for that one search and not stored.

  • Where to go inside

A short note per line, such as “Lab, 2nd floor, room 4”.

Join in a few taps

Choose what you came for. The right line follows from the choice.

  • A menu of services

Pick from a menu up to three levels deep, with durations and display prices. “Not sure yet” is an option.

  • Phone sign-in only at Join

Look first. Confirm your phone number with a one-time code when you press Join, then land back where you were.

  • Can't join? It says why

Paused, full, or you're already in it: the row stays, with the reason.

Show 1 more
  • Several lines in one tap

A consultation and a blood test together, all or nothing, up to ten services at once.

Wait anywhere, with an honest estimate

Your place updates by itself while the page is open, so the waiting room is optional.

  • Your place, live

A big token number and how many people are ahead, updating by itself. Closing the page does not lose your place. Open the link again and it is still there.

  • A wait as a range

“About 30–40 minutes”, worked out from the services ahead, the desks on shift and any desk running behind. When no desk is on shift, the time is hidden rather than guessed; your place in the line still shows.

  • If you miss your call

Your page shows when it is your turn. If you are not there, the place waits for the grace time it has set. Come back later that day and tell the desk: they can put you back in the queue. Running late? Say so from your page first and your place is kept.

Show 4 more
  • Now serving

The number being served right now, to match against the room.

  • Honest when it is stale

If the page loses its connection for a while it says “may be out of date” and keeps the last number it knew.

  • An inbox of updates

Your turn, the next step, a desk on a long break, a cancelled booking. A bell with an unread count, and it works without an account on the phone that followed the visit.

  • Give up your place safely

Two taps on your ticket, and accidental taps are ignored. “Closed for the day” says so plainly instead of a silent no-show.

Family can follow along

The person waiting is not always the person holding the phone.

  • Share it with family

Send the link and family can follow your place from their phone, with no sign-in and never your name. Anyone with the link can also give up your place, so share it with people you trust. If the desk gave you the ticket, only the first phone can change it.

  • Save a desk-issued visit

Signed in, one tap saves a visit the desk registered to your visits.

Multi-step visits, spelled out

Consult, pay, scan, back to the doctor. You always know the next move.

  • The whole visit, step by step

“What to do now”, then every step marked Done, Now, Go first or Later, with where to go next.

Your account, your data

Light on sign-up, plain about what happens to your details.

  • No password

Your phone number and a one-time code, done. Name is optional and any country code works.

  • Who sees your number

The place you joined, to find your visit at the desk. Desk staff on a read-only view do not see it, and the TV shows a token, never your name. Your number signs you in, and nobody is going to phone you from Line Me Up. Privacy

  • Delete your account yourself

Two taps, with a plain warning. Your name, email and phone are removed; the business keeps a nameless visit record.

Under the hood

For the person who has to trust it.

For a partner, an investor or anyone checking our work: how it stays correct in a rush, who sees what, and what has to pass before a release. In plain words, and only what the product does today.

Correct in a rush

The failures a queue cannot afford are tested with simultaneous requests.

  • Two desks never get the same person

Desks pressing Call next at the same moment each get a different person, in order.

  • No repeated tokens, no double-booked slot

People joining at the same moment get the next numbers with no gaps or repeats, and the last booking slot goes to one person, not two.

  • One place per person per line

Someone cannot hold two live places in the same line. The database refuses it as well as the screen.

Live, and careful when it is not

Screens move together, and keep working when the live connection does not.

  • Staff screens move together

A join, a call or a completion reaches every staff screen showing that line within seconds.

  • Keeps going without the live connection

If the live connection drops, screens re-check every 5 to 15 seconds and the loop keeps working. Even when live, they check once a minute.

  • Only the lines you may see

Updates are sent line by line, so a screen receives only the lines its user is allowed to see.

Show 1 more
  • Nothing personal on the customer's live channel

The live updates to a customer's phone carry no names, numbers or places in the line, only a signal that something changed.

Who sees what

Kept to what the visit needs, and checked on every request.

  • Private ticket links; no names on the TV

A ticket link holds a long random secret, not the token number, and a wrong link reveals nothing. The TV shows tokens, never names.

  • A customer sees only their own visit

Totals and their own token, never another person.

  • Each business's data kept separate

Every staff request is limited to one business, in the application, and another business's data answers “not found”.

Show 6 more
  • Separate keys for separate people

Staff, customers, our own admins and TVs each sign in their own way, and each is refused on the others' pages.

  • Secrets stored scrambled

Staff passwords, sessions and ticket secrets are stored only in a one-way scrambled form, and ticket secrets are kept out of server logs.

  • A session a page script cannot read

The staff sign-in is kept in a cookie that scripts on the page cannot read, and it is replaced every time it is used.

  • Sign-in protection

Login attempts are limited, and a wrong email and a wrong password get the same answer. A sign-in code stops working after five minutes or three wrong guesses.

  • Fair-use limits, and a QR scan is never blocked

Joining, browsing, the contact form and TV pairing are limited against abuse. Scanning a poster or opening a direct link is not.

  • Private pages stay out of search

Tickets, visits, accounts and the staff app tell search engines not to list them, and the directory asks for a sign-in after a little browsing, to make bulk copying harder.

Eight languages

For each person and each TV, on the same visit.

  • Each person their own

English, മലയാളം, हिन्दी, தமிழ், Español, 日本語, 简体中文 and 繁體中文. A receptionist in Tamil and a patient in Malayalam can share one visit. Translations are AI-written and not yet reviewed by people; some text stays in English.

  • Proper lettering

Dates and times read naturally in each language, Indian scripts get fonts made for them, and long words wrap rather than being cut off.

  • Words that fit the place

Clinics get clinic words, such as “Emergency” and “Hospital ID”. Every other kind of place gets plain ones.

Accessibility

Automated checks, not good intentions.

  • Checked against WCAG 2.1 AA rules on every build of the main branch

Main staff and customer screens are scanned, open sheets included, and a serious or critical finding fails the build.

  • Big enough to tap

Everything tappable in the customer app is at least 44 px; the desk's main button is 88 px tall.

  • Never colour alone

Every status has an icon and a word, and text contrast is checked at 4.5 to 1 in the light, dark and TV colours.

Show 1 more
  • Screen readers hear changes

The ticket, the inbox and the board summary announce changes politely. Animations switch off when the phone asks, and form fields are large enough that an iPhone does not zoom.

Quick on an ordinary phone

Light by default, with a ceiling that fails the build.

  • The desk doesn't wait for the server

Complete updates the screen at once and offers Undo. If the server refuses, the screen puts it back.

  • Tested on a slow connection

In a test on a throttled 3G connection, a first-time visitor can read the queue in under 3 seconds, in English and in Malayalam.

  • Loads only what a screen needs

Screens and sheets load when they are opened. If one part fails to load, it fails alone, with a Reload button.

Show 2 more
  • Size ceilings

The staff app, the customer app and this site each have a size limit, and going over it fails the build.

  • No outside font service in the apps

The staff and customer apps serve their own fonts, and their files are cached for a year.

What the main branch has to pass

Checks that fail the build on the main branch, not a checklist someone remembers.

  • The checks the deploy waits for

Lint, type checks, unit and integration tests, browser suites, screenshot comparisons, performance and size checks. The automatic deploy from the main branch waits for all of them; a release can also be started by hand.

  • A deploy confirmed live

A deploy from the main branch waits until the server reports the exact version that passed its checks.

  • Every acceptance criterion has a test

The product's acceptance criteria are listed against the tests that cover them, and the build fails if one has none.

Show 4 more
  • Pixel-level visual checks

The design system and the staff screens are compared against approved screenshots.

  • Gaps written down, not hidden

Every end-to-end case is listed as built or still to do, so what is not yet tested is on the record.

  • Coverage cannot quietly slide

If test coverage drops by more than half a point, the main branch fails.

  • This page is tested too

A test fails the build on wording this site cannot back, such as a promise to text your customers.
