The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 6 pm; Sunday closed.

Add public holidays and stock-taking days as closed days. Owners who booked a fitting on those days are listed so you can cancel or keep each one, and phones cannot join while you are closed.

  • TV display

The token being called and the bay or counter to go to.

On the wall above the waiting chairs, facing the counter.

  • QR poster

At the gate where vehicles come in and on the counter, so an owner takes a place before they join the crowd at the window.

Tips

  • Say plainly what the counter is.

This is your counter, not a government office. A token from Line Me Up is a place in your line and nothing more: it issues no plate, no certificate and no registration.

    How it works →
  • Let owners book a fitting time.

Plate fitting takes bookings up to seven days ahead as well as walk-ins. A booked time holds one vehicle for each fitting bay, and the owner is reminded in the app's inbox the evening before and an hour before. On arrival they press I am here on their phone, or the business owner checks them in on the Waitlist; the clerks cannot.

    How it works →
  • Share Counter 2 between the two lines.

Counter 2 calls from Registration papers and Plate fitting. When the fitting line is long, the owner uses Calls from on the Live Board to give it the bigger share, then evens it out again.

    How it works →
  • Put an older owner ahead while adding them.

A clerk with the Front desk ability can mark someone as priority as they add them at the counter. If it is missed, they can mark priority, or move someone up or down, on the Waitlist afterwards.

    How it works →
  • Call again before marking a no-show.

Owners step out to photocopy a document. Call again shows the token once more on the TV and their page, and moves no one else.
