Temple prasad and donation counter

For a temple trust office on a festival weekend, when devotees come for prasad, donation receipts and seva bookings and the counters need an orderly, fair way to take each in turn.

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Every day, 5:30 am to 8:30 pm.

Give festival days their own hours, such as an earlier start and a later close, and close the office for the days the temple itself is closed. Seva bookings on a closed date are listed so you can cancel or keep each.

  • TV display

The token being called and the window to go to, for each line.

Under the shaded area beside the counters, where devotees wait their turn.

  • QR poster

At the outer gate and at the counters, so a devotee can take a place and wait in the shade or in the hall.

Tips

  • Give priority to the elderly and those with limited mobility.

The welcome volunteer has the Front desk ability to mark such a visitor as priority, and Above everyone for someone who cannot wait at all, which also gives the desks a banner and a short chime.

    How it works →
  • Set festival days ahead of time.

Add each festival date with its own hours or as a closed day. The week's normal hours return after it, with no change to make.

    How it works →
  • Let devotees choose their language.

The customer app is available in eight languages, including Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam, and devotees pick theirs on their own phone. Each TV page has a language of its own.

    How it works →
  • Keep seva bookings separate from the prasad crowd.

Seva booking is its own bookings-only line, which devotees book on their own phone for today or the next six days, so a booked archana is not held behind a long run of prasad requests. The devotee presses I am here on arrival.
