Mobile phone repair

For a one-shop phone repairer near a market, where five people hold out their phones at once and the quick screen guard waits behind a long motherboard job.

1 line · 2 desks · Something else picked in setup

The setup

  • Technician Staff

Runs the front bench, calling the next phone for quick jobs and pick-ups.

    Ticked: Front desk

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Six days a week, 10 am to 9 pm; closed on the weekly market holiday.

Mark Diwali week and the local festival days as closed. Anyone who scans the poster then sees the shop is closed instead of joining and waiting.

  • TV display

The token being called and the bench to go to.

On a small screen above the glass counter, where people leaving their phone can see it.

  • QR poster

On the shutter and on the counter glass, so customers can take a place from the pavement and go for tea.

Tips

  • Give quick jobs a short service time.

Give Tempered glass fitting and Collect repaired phone their own short times. The wait estimate then reflects a three-minute job, not the average repair.

    How it works →
  • Let the technician add a customer who walked in without a phone.

With the Front desk ability, the technician adds the person at the counter and hands over a slip with a QR to follow their place.

    How it works →
  • Use a break with a reason when you leave for parts.

Pause the Back bench with the reason "Away" and a return time. The board shows when it is back, and customers waiting see the delay instead of a line that has stopped.

    How it works →
  • Call again before marking a no-show.

Call again shows the token once more on the screen and on the customer's page, and moves nobody else.
