Restaurant table waitlist

For a sit-down restaurant that fills up from eight on weekends, where guests crowd the entrance and the host keeps the list on a notepad.

2 lines · 2 desks · Café or restaurant picked in setup

The setup

Lines and what people choose

  • Table waitlist walk-in

About 15 min each · up to 40 waiting

    • Party of 1 or 2 10 min
    • Party of 3 or 4 15 min
    • Party of 5 or more 25 min
  • Takeaway counter walk-in

About 6 min each · up to 25 waiting

    • Collect a parcel 3 min
    • Ask about a parcel not yet ready 6 min

Desks

  • Host stand

    Calls from Table waitlist

  • Takeaway window

    Calls from Takeaway counter

Team

  • Owner Owner

Sets up the lines and the closing hours, and reads Insights on Monday mornings.

  • Host × 2 Staff

Calls the next party from the Host stand when the floor has a table ready.

    Ticked: Front desk

  • Takeaway staff Staff

Calls the next parcel token at the window and hands the bag over.

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Every day, 12 noon to 11 pm.

Add Diwali night and the weekly off day as closed days. A guest who opens the page on a closed day is told the restaurant is closed, instead of joining a list nobody will call.

  • TV display

The token being called and the stand to go to, with a chime.

Above the entrance, facing the waiting area outside, so guests on the pavement can see it through the glass.

  • QR poster

On the door and on the host stand, so a guest can scan it on arrival, join the list and wait in the car or the shop next door.

Tips

  • Pick the party size when you add a walk-in.

The host adds a guest without a phone at the stand and chooses their party size, so the estimate uses that party's own time rather than one average.

    How it works →
  • Call again before you mark a no-show.

Call again shows the token once more on the TV and on the guest's page, without moving anyone else. If they still do not come, mark a no-show and call the next party.

    How it works →
  • Say the kitchen is behind, once.

On a night the kitchen is slow, tap Running behind on the Host stand. Every guest on the list sees the extra time on their own page.

    How it works →
  • Print the poster in your language.

The A5 poster comes in your business's language, and a guest's page can follow the language they choose.
