Cloud kitchen pickup counter

For a delivery-only kitchen with a single hatch, where riders from three apps and a few walk-up customers all crowd the same doorway.

2 lines · 1 desk · Café or restaurant picked in setup

The setup

Lines and what people choose

  • Rider handover walk-in

About 2 min each · up to 25 waiting

  • Customer collection walk-in

About 3 min each · up to 15 waiting

    • Collect my order 3 min
    • Order is wrong or missing something 6 min

Desks

  • Handover hatch

Calls from Rider handover, Customer collection

Team

  • Kitchen owner Owner

Sets up the two lines and the hours, and reads Insights to see when riders wait longest.

  • Packing and handover × 2 Staff

Calls the next rider or customer from the Handover hatch and hands over the bag.

The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Every day, 11 am to 11 pm.

Add the day the kitchen is shut for deep cleaning as a closed day. Anyone opening the page that day is told it is closed.

  • TV display

The token being called, so a rider outside the hatch knows when to step up.

Above the hatch, facing the lane where the riders park.

  • QR poster

On the shutter and beside the hatch, so a rider can scan it as they arrive and take a place before the bag is ready.

Tips

  • A rider has a phone, so use it.

A rider scans the shutter poster, joins the line and waits by the bike. The hatch calls the next token, and no one has to shout an order number.

    How it works →
  • Share one hatch between both lines.

The hatch calls from both lines. Call Next shares the two lines out, and an empty line is skipped.

    How it works →
  • Use Running behind during a rush.

When the kitchen is behind, tap Running behind once. Every rider and customer waiting sees the extra time on their page.

    How it works →
  • Know your quiet hours.

Insights shows when riders wait longest. If one lunch hour always backs up, start packing earlier for it.
