The day

Hours, the TV and the poster

  • Opening hours

Every day, 8 am to 9 pm; in festival week, 7 am to 11 pm.

Set the festival-week hours as special hours and add the day after Diwali as closed. Bookings the changes cut are listed, so you can keep each one or cancel it.

  • TV display

The token being called and the counter to go to.

On the wall above the billing desk, facing the shop door.

  • QR poster

On the shop front, on the glass counters and on the box shelves, so people can join the line from the pavement outside.

Tips

  • Let festival boxes be booked.

Booked pickup slots for gift boxes spread the Diwali pickup over the week, up to seven days ahead, so the counter is not full at six in the evening. A customer who arrives presses I am here on their phone, or the shop manager checks them in on the Waitlist; a booking nobody checks in is not called, and is given up once the late window passes.

    How it works →
  • Set festival hours before the week.

Give the festival days their own opening and closing times, and mark the day after as closed. They beat the usual weekday hours.

    How it works →
  • Move people when the shop turns.

If the sweets line is long and cake collection is empty, a manager changes Counter B's split on the Live Board so it calls mostly from the sweets line.

    How it works →
  • Add the person without a phone.

Give the billing staff the Front desk ability so they can add an older customer at the counter and hand over a QR slip.

    How it works →
  • Review the week afterwards.

Insights shows which hours were busiest this week. Plan next Diwali's counters and boxes from that, not from memory.
